Academy Welcome
Welcome to Kidgate Primary Academy.
I am proud to be the Headteacher of this outstanding and welcoming school in the centre of Louth. At Kidgate, we pride ourselves on being a friendly and inclusive school that works hard to meet the needs of every one of our children. We constantly strive to engage our children in learning in a fun and active way to ensure they all make good progress and attain well.
As a school, we are fully committed to developing each child’s unique potential not only academically, but also socially, emotionally and physically. Our children are happy and enthusiastic learners, who work hard to reach the challenges set by their teachers. Our dedicated and committed staff focus on making all aspects of our school a safe and secure learning environment where children feel confident to try out new skills and are encouraged to ‘have a go’ even if they find something difficult or challenging.
At Kidgate Primary Academy we are proud of our children and staff and the positive atmosphere they create. It is important to us that we provide challenge within a supportive and inviting environment where pupils enjoy learning and make a positive contribution. Success is celebrated in the knowledge that this will encourage greater achievement in the future. By the time they leave in Year 6, children are ready to face the excitement and challenges of the next stages in their educational journey. They will have developed confidence and the ability to organise themselves, make new friends, and demonstrate a constantly positive attitude towards learning.
Our first-rate teaching, engaging curriculum and supportive pastoral systems help pupils to achieve beyond their expectations and develop a strong sense of responsibility for themselves, their peers and the wider world. Achievement and a ‘can-do’ attitude are at the heart of our philosophy; we support this through nurturing pupils’ creativity, encouraging independent thinking and learning, and through presenting children with opportunities to work collaboratively whenever possible. It is our aim that pupils take a lead in their own learning, have the opportunity to work and play in many different groupings, and develop a sense of pride in their own achievements. We develop our pupils into young people who have self-confidence, high self-esteem and who are caring and considerate of others' needs and differences.
I hope that you get even more of a flavour of what Kidgate stands for as you browse through our website and if you have any questions or would like to arrange a visit to our school please do not hesitate to contact us via the main school office.
