School Council Elections (21.11.14)

Kidgate School Council Elections 2014

Children from Years 1 to 6 took to the campaign trail in recent weeks, all of which culminated in a full scale Election on Friday 21st November.  Each voter was allowed to cast two votes on their voting slip, before placing the slips in the fiercely guarded voting boxes!

The votes were counted, verified by an independent adjudicator and then sealed away for the weekend, with the results being announced in assembly in front of the whole school.  Two children from each class were elected from a huge number of initial nominees and will be presented with their Gold School Council Sweatshirts by the Mayor of Louth in an upcoming assembly.

The manners and respect for all candidates by each and every child was a joy to behold and all children have every right to be proud, whatever their role in the process.

And finally; Congratulations to all of our successful School Councillors!
